"Echoes of a Hermit" poster

When I was first approached to be featured in a documentary about being an indie author, I couldn’t help but think it was a prank. Why would anyone want to see my face in a film, especially when I struggle to appear in even 30-second videos?

Creating “Echoes of a Hermit” proved to be an intensely personal journey. As someone who self-identifies as a hermit, the process was understandably challenging. However, despite the difficulties, I am pleased with the final product. The experience was not without its frustrations, particularly when distributors and streaming platforms requested changes. They considered our advocacy message in the end credits as “promotional content” and required us to remove references to specific social media platforms, even though they were well-documented in the film.

In retrospect, these edits may have been a blessing in disguise. The changes resulted in both a theatrical cut and a director’s cut of the documentary. “Echoes of a Hermit: Solitude, Resilience, and the Power of Writing” will officially be released on August 16th. Due to the additional edits for the director’s cut, it might take a bit longer to appear on streaming platforms.

Thank you for your patience and support. I hope this film offers insight and inspiration to those who, like me, value the solitude and strength found in the world of writing.
